What we do

Our
Story
The UMID Project is a non-profit organization founded to support young students in Uzbekistan. Students from primary to secondary schools in Uzbekistan actively studying the English language benefit from receiving educational English books to help increase their reading and writing skills. With the help of active volunteers and generous donations of books and school supplies, Uzbek students can access a collection of educational books and literature from all different cultures. The books and donated school supplies like pencils, pens, notebooks, folders, and exedra will benefit their educational journey. Other than book drives and fundraisers we offer English tutoring for students in Uzbekistan as we hire passionate volunteers to provide an educational learning opportunity. As we continue to grow as an organization, we want to leave an impact on education in Uzbekistan and forever positively help inspire young students.

Volunteering
If you are considering helping other than just dropping off books and supplies, please look at our volunteering opportunities. If you are ages 15 and up, you can become an active volunteer! As a volunteer, you must be able to speak fluent English and undergo a background check to ensure that you know your responsibilities as an English tutor for students in Uzbekistan. You must also read and understand the curriculum and guidelines given to you before being a one-on-one tutor with a student in Uzbekistan. Make sure you have access to an electronic device such as a laptop and have zoom installed with a document with the readied plan for the tutoring session!
